From research to community impact - an interview series highlighting women whose work connects STEM, development, and the realities of the communities they serve.
As part of ASREN’s ongoing efforts to empower women in science, technology, and innovation across the region — with the support of the EUMEDplus project — we continue our STEM Spotlight interview series, highlighting inspiring women whose work contributes to research, development, and positive change in their communities.
Ms. Sally Najeeb
Sally Najeeb is a development and humanitarian project manager from Iraq, working with civil society organizations. She was among the 10 young researchers shortlisted to present their research at e-AGE25 bringing her perspective as an emerging researcher from Iraq to the conference.
She also participated in the Empowering Women Entrepreneurs – Choose Your Path workshop, held alongside e-AGE25 in Amman, where she explored how research and scientific knowledge can contribute to development initiatives and community impact.
In this short interview, Ms. Najeeb reflects on the lessons she gained from the entrepreneurship workshop, the challenges she encounters in her work with communities, and the importance of understanding local realities when designing development initiatives.
