The EUMEDplus Kick-off meeting, held on December 11, a head of the eAGE24 conference, brought together beneficiaries, partners, and European Commission representatives to agree on how to advance research and education connectivity in the Mediterranean region.

The meeting provided a platform to explore the project's scope, financial planning, and its vital role in preparing for future EU projects. Discussions centered on strengthening ASREN’s focus on NRENs, ensuring they are equipped to meet future challenges. Participants also emphasized the importance of sustainability, capacity development, and tailored services to address both regional and national requirements.

The EU co-funded EUMEDplus project started on 1 September 2024 with the aim to enhance the capabilities of NRENs in the Mediterranean region and their Regional Network ASREN and increasing access to modern digital infrastructure and technologies
