Launching the e-AGE26 Hackathon
Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators
The Arab States Research and Education Network is pleased to announce the launch of the Next-Gen Innovators Platform Hackathon as part of e-AGE26, now open for applications.
Building on the success of previous editions, this year marks a significant evolution of the initiative — moving beyond presentations toward hands-on innovation, collaboration, and real-world impact.
Organized in partnership with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, host and co-organizer of e-AGE26, and with the support of the Global Young Academy, the hackathon brings together a shared vision: empowering young researchers to engage, create, and contribute meaningfully to society through science and technology.
From Ideas to Impact
🎯 AI for Sustainable Impact: Driving the SDGs Forward
The hackathon invites young innovators from across the Arab region to develop AI-driven solutions addressing pressing societal challenges — from climate and health to education and inclusive development.
More than a competition, the initiative is designed as a guided journey. Participating teams will benefit from mentorship, expert support, and a collaborative environment that encourages experimentation, learning, and growth.
Selected teams will advance through a structured process combining online development with an in-person final at e-AGE26 in Alexandria
A Shared Commitment to Youth and Innovation
Through this collaboration, ASREN, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Global Young Academy aim to strengthen the role of young researchers as active contributors to regional and global challenges. By combining scientific expertise, mentorship, and community engagement, the hackathon creates a platform where innovation is not only encouraged — but supported and sustained.
Hands-On Learning
Empowering early-career researchers through hands-on, challenge-based learning
Cross-Border Collaboration
Fostering collaboration across disciplines and borders
Inclusive Participation
Promoting inclusive participation, including women and underrepresented groups

Looking Ahead
The e-AGE26 Hackathon represents an important step toward building a new generation of researchers and innovators who are not only technically skilled, but also equipped to collaborate, lead, and drive impact.
