For three consecutive editions, the Women in STEM Track has been a recurring cornerstone of ASREN’s annual e-AGE conference, creating a dedicated platform to amplify women’s voices, exchange experiences, and foster impactful dialogue between seasoned professionals, emerging talent, and institutional leaders.
Through high-level panel discussions, interactive workshops, and collaborative sessions, the track has continuously explored crucial dimensions of women’s participation in STEM — ranging from career trajectory choices and leadership roles to entrepreneurship, research networks, support mechanisms, and ongoing professional development.
Across every edition, one resonant message has remained paramount: visibility matters, but creating meaningful, accessible opportunities for women to connect, grow, and lead matters just as much.
Taking the Conversation Beyond the Lab
At e-AGE26, the Women in STEM Track takes another bold step forward. This year, Women in the Field: Science Beyond the Lab will shift the focus from solely discussing women’s career journeys in STEM to spotlighting and celebrating the science they are actively driving in the field.
What does it mean to work in science beyond the laboratory?
For many women in STEM, scientific discovery is not confined to research papers, controlled experiments, or academic laboratories. It takes place out in the field — monitoring environmental transformations, orchestrating responses to urgent crises, gathering telemetry in extreme environments, engaging directly with communities, stewarding natural resources, and engineering solutions where science directly addresses real-world challenges.
Yet these frontline experiences are too often under-represented. At e-AGE26, ASREN brings these compelling stories to center stage, creating an open arena to explore the realities, rigorous challenges, and groundbreaking opportunities faced by women in field-based scientific and technical disciplines.
