Advancing Open Science in North Africa Workshop

Summary:

ASREN, the Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa), and the Public Library of Science (PLOS) officially launched their strategic partnership on February 26, 2025, during a dynamic virtual webinar attended by over 100 participants. The event provided a platform for discussions on advancing open science principles, fostering collaboration, and strengthening research connectivity in the region. Beyond the official launch, the webinar featured insightful talks, panel discussions, and an interactive session where participants addressed challenges, explored opportunities, and identified areas for collaboration. Distinguished speakers from regional and international organizations contributed to the dialogue, emphasizing the importance of open science. The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting researchers, policymakers, and institutions in adopting open science practices.
