Women Leading Change – Regional Dialogue on Women’s Leadership
The “Women Leading Change” webinar was held on 14 July 2025 as part of the EUMEDPLUS project, bringing together women leaders and emerging changemakers from across the Arab region to discuss leadership, innovation, and gender equality.
The event attracted more than 85 participants and provided a platform for open dialogue on the role of women in STEM, entrepreneurship, research, and institutional leadership. Discussions highlighted personal journeys, systemic challenges, and practical pathways for empowering women to lead change within their communities and institutions.
The webinar was moderated by Dr. Ryma Abassi, Associate Professor and Director at ISETCOM, Tunisia, and a recognized leader in cybersecurity and women’s leadership.
Speakers
- Prof. Amal Amin (Egypt), Professor at the National Research Centre (NRC) and global leader in science diplomacy and nanotechnology
- Ms. Fatima Botmeh (Palestine), Gender and organizational development specialist with extensive experience in women’s economic empowerment and inclusive leadership
- Ms. Mona Saleem (Jordan), Founder and former Chairperson of IEEE AESS JU, promoting industry–academia collaboration in aerospace and defense sectors
The session concluded with reflections on resilience, leadership, and collective responsibility, followed by a presentation on ASREN’s ongoing commitment to gender equality, including the STEM Rise initiative and the Women in STEM Track at e-AGE25.
